While I was in Michigan I went to visit this incredible Animal Sanctuary: SASHA FARM.
It ’s the midwest’s largest farm animal sanctuary and it is also pretty old.
Was founded in the ’80 by Dorothy Davies and Monte Jackson, the sanctuary currently shelters over 200 animals and provides food and water, veterinary care and a roof over their heads; also the animal residents receive affection, social interaction with others of their own species and a sense of security.
